Rodolfo is a passionate freediver and spearo who’s been practicing freediving spearfishing since 1996. He’s from Peru, South America, and knows but one freedom and that is the freedom of being one with the water on just one breath. He is definitely the change we all want to see in this sport, because, trust me, this legendary man will stop at nothing to explore the whole world and promote a free way of living through sustainable fishing on a single breath of air.
During our recent epic spearfishing adventure in the Aegean Sea together with Manolis Giankos, this absolute legend man managed to land a trophy dusky grouper and witnessed first-hand the improvement in all aspects of the sport by following the SII – Spearfishing Instructors International learning curriculum. Needless to say, in the heavily fished Mediterranean Sea it might take many hours, days or sometimes even weeks and deep dives to land a single trophy Dusky Grouper fish. The Med, is the most difficult terrain to train in.
“In the Med, trying to get something out of almost nothing at all is what makes someone a better spearo and sea man”, Don Rodolfo says. “People should be always motivated to learn and train. Freediving Spearfishing can help you change your life for the better, build your self-confidence, improve family unity, relationships and communication with other people. The only failure is not trying”.
Freediving Spearfishing is a great feeling and a big accomplishment. If you are inspired to train here’s your call to action: Follow @spearfishinginstructors to make a difference and MAX UP YOUR SKILLS! Rodolfo knows!
