Fear is something inside you that feels problematic and is usually that thing that you can’t bare looking at. It continues to live IN you because you won’t give it your full internal attention. You dislike its arrival and praise its leave. So, whatever your fear might be, it will always be able to get your mind and emotions to identify with it, therefore it will somehow find a way to be reproduced IN you again and again.

It’s time to ask yourself, what is actually going on that I fear so much? Find it and put your attention on it. From the moment you are in this state you fear, from then on, don’t believe your mind. Look at how this fear arrives and how it takes you over. Soon you may find your mind trying to pull you down a negative hole, but you will be aware enough to see it before it grows. You will soon realize that this whole trying to get rid of the negative thoughts, emotions, memories, or whatever this "fear" actually is, is actually the fear itself and once you immerse yourself fully in it, you will see that after practice it’s completely bearable and that it was you trying to run away that’s caused that fear all along. In a weird way you will start to enjoy when that "thing" does pop up, so you can practice on it knowing that it’s only IN you and it’s not actually YOU. Just simply by looking at it inside and feeling it fully with no judgment, it will dissolve into itself. Freediving is all about finding your own spirituality and the motivation to work on your inner self, after all!
