* Discover Spearfishing – Level 1

Open to freedivers who want to learn about the philosophy, principles, essential equipment and basic techniques of spearfishing.

Course duration: 1 day – Includes theory and an open water session.

** Spearfishing Specialty Course – Level 2

For accomplished Level 2 freedivers who already have basic spearfishing experience, skills and knowledge and want to take them to the next level. By the end of the course, a certified spearo will be qualified to safely and effectively spearfish, using any technique required on any fish species, regardless of which part of the world he/she dives.

Minimum course duration: 3 days – Includes theory, pool and open water sessions.

*** Master Spearfishing Course – Level 3

For qualified Level 2 spearos or for those recommended externally (an interview is required for skills and performance assessment). By the end of the course, a Master Spearo will be qualified to safely and effectively spearfish the deep zone for the biggest, most challenging, highest quality fish species.

Minimum course duration: 5 days – Includes theory, pool and open water sessions (real-action conditions on a boat.)

Professional Level 1 – Spearfishing Instructor

For qualified Level 3 Master Spearos or recommended Freediving Instructors and Spearfishing Champions / Experts. A certified Spearfishing Instructor will be qualified and ready to effectively teach and train all recreational spearfishing levels.

Course duration: 7 days – Includes theory, pool and open water sessions (real-action conditions on a boat.)

Professional Level 2 – Head Spearfishing Instructor

For Spearfishing Instructors who have gained a certain level of expertise by training and certifying over 120 spearos. Spearfishing Head Instructor candidates must pass certain physical performance tests and a mandatory final written exam.

A Head Spearfishing Instructor will be able to:

1. Organize an ITC and train Spearfishing Instructors, with the mandatory participation of at least one member of the FREEDIVE GREECE Instructor Trainer Board.

2. Organize and participate as a Spearfishing Instructor in specialized training seminars, Competitive Spearfishing Training, and all Spearfishing Specialty Programs.

3. Consult with and recommend potential Spearfishing Instructors to the FREEDIVE GREECE Instructor Trainer Board.
